check your owners manual for how often you should change yours. and I'm pretty sure the gap is 0.045. I didn't bother checking mine because 1) i didnt have the tool and 2) i read multiple times the brand I got came perfectly gapped out of the box. the NGK 5306 plugs.

A great tip is to rotate the plugs backwards a bit before you start threading the plug in, helps seat the plug and helps prevent cross threading.

When I picked up my plugs from the dealership, I was told they were already gapped correctly, not true, they were not all correct. I would take the few minutes and check them for the correct gap. I have never believed that the gap correct always out of the box.

I agree you should always check. Mine just all happened to be perfect as the came. My old CJ-7 needs .60 gap so those always need some adjustment.
