Default feel a thump when i stop

Has anyone else had the same experience, it feels like someone has tapped you from behind? Like the truck bucks forward a bit.

Thank you for your input

typically its the fuel sloshing in the tank. happens mostly around 3/4 full. mine does not do it though. that is the general consensus of what the issue is.

to the Z. enjoy your stay here.

My guess is also the fuel in the tank. Also guessing you have the larger tank as more folks seem to complain about that thump-at-stop issue with the larger tank. Wish I had the larger tank regardless of the thump.
You could always test it by running her nearly empty (2-3 gallons) or top her off completely and test. You probably will not notice the noise under those conditions.

I've had my 2010 for about 5 weeks now and figured out the same thing. Seems to only happen between 3/4 and 1/2 tank.

This is an extremely common probelm with the optional 32 gallon tank at those exact fuel levels you stated. Please contact Ram and complain. I did and they said "They have not recieved enough complaints on the issue to do anything about it." Yet many have complained on here about it.

Hopefully, the squeaky wheel will get the grease.

Additionally I experienced the same because i have the optional 32 gallon tank, but you can try going into the settings on the touch screen and turning off the HSA (Hill Start Assist) it may help a little bit

Has anyone swapped tanks and really found that the issue went away? It sure feels to me like it's a late downshift from the transmission. It only happens one time so I sorta doubt fuel slosh will give you only "one" bump. It's so minor that I don't let it even bother me and it seems to do it no matter how much fuel is in the tank. After years of getting slammed around from muscle cars with harsh shift kits, this slight bump in minor to me.

I do agree it's not something thats going to toss you and your passenger's through the windshield but its embarrasing and should not happen.

When I was going back and forth with Chrysler, they wanted to hear from the tech at my dealer. He confirmed it with them and they responded "we are well aware of this and as of right now not enough complaints so this is normal operation of the vehicle."

If they are well aware of it why dont they notify or address this on the window sticker alerting potential buyers? That would not have stopped me from buying a Ram but I sure would have just gone with the 26g.

Have I heard of anyone swapping tanks? No. When I fill up I only fill to half now. Makes life a bit more complicated with extra fuel stops, but I cant afford stupid crap like tank swapping right now.

Coldfusion73 posted my rant with my results from Chrysler, Im not going to get started again here.

Well the thump happen when it full or empty the dealer seem to believe that it is not the fuel sloshing. When I come to a stop it happen about two or three second later They thought it was the drive shaft so they put a new one in.Still does it , they put a new part in the trans that did'nt help so it going back in to the dealer
