Default Need Help! Starter, start terminal lead.

Had some issue removing the terminal from the starter. Once i got it off everything was easy. I'm trying to plug the terminal into the new starter, but no amount of pressure will budge it to completely lock into the connector. I have also tried connecting it to the old starter and I have the same issue. I think it is the terminal lead cable that got messed up when I disconnected it initially? I've included a picture of both the terminal cable and the connector on the starter so that maybe someone will see a issue and help out.

If I'm calling the cable the wrong name i apologize. It's the cable coming directly from + connection on the battery to the starter.

If you're wondering why cable is on top of the engine i disengaged the clamp holding it to the frame.

Thanks for any help.
