Default 2005 rims on a 98?

I was looking at some 5 lug Ram 1500 rims off a 2005, would they fit my 98? and the tires I have already? Or are 2005 rims a different size?

I haven't seen anyone do it. You have to find out your current lug pattern. 2005 has a 5x5.5 lug pattern.

That's really all I would think that would stop you from being able to. you need to do some homework and find out what size your current rims are, and the 2005s to see if your can swap those tires

good luck man

I found this with a quick google search.

1994-1999 1500 2WD/4WD Aluminum Wheels

Lug Pattern - 5 on 5.5", 1/2" bolt
Rim Size - 16x7.0"
Offset - +13.97mm
Backspace - 5"
Max Tire Size -
15x8.0 rims with 3.5" backspace will fit, but they stick out of the wheel wells.

according to that you have the same lug pattern has the 2005 (seems it hasn't changed in a long time). Now those are 16" wheels on the 1998 which don't fit the newer rams because of the size of the rear brakes. So I'm assuming your 2005 rims that you are looking at are 17" at the smallest...so your tires won't be compatible.

That is just what I found with a quick google search...don't strictly rely on my answer. But i'm hopin it helps you some

I'm going to have to buy new tires anyway because they're getting pretty bald. But if I do buy these rims, they seem like they might work. Still looking though.
