Exclamation Lights stay on after LED mod -- HELP!

I have been replacing all off my OEM interior lights with red LEDs. Problem is with my 4 wheel drive selector and my rear sliding glass switch. Once I soldered them in, they stay lit (very dim, but lit). The polarity is correct because I tried them both ways. This will kill my battery right? Any ideas would be appreciated.
