Default Outdoorsman with Stock Dual Exhaust?

Any one do a Outdoorsman{2013} over to a dual exhaust? Are the same mounting points there? Wish the duals were available to the Outdoorsman from the factory but I have seen some oem duals on kijiji that people are selling after replacing with a custom exhaust.I know a Magnaflow would sound nicer but the price is right on the oem replacement duals and they would sound throatier than the single side dump would they not?

All the mounting points will be there for the dual exhaust. All the trucks with single exhaust have them. The problem you will have putting stock exhaust on a truck that doesn't have the bumper cut outs is that you will have to modify the stock exhaust to drop down underneath the bumper. To do that properly and have it look right could be a bit of a pain....

As far as the sound of it, no it isn't going to sound much different than the stock single exhaust. As far as I know they use the same size muffler. One just has a single out and one has a dual out. Plus with the stock dual pipes there will be two resonators (one on each side) which could essentially make it a tiny bit quieter. Honestly if I was you I would just buy an aftermarket system that is made for a truck without the bumper cut outs. Both Magnaflow and Flowmaster make good systems. The Magnaflow system comes with a 22" muffler I believe so it will be quieter than the Flowmaster if you're looking to stay closer to stock. I have the Flowmaster American Thunder system on my truck and use the pipes to make it exit behind the rear tires. I personally like the look of that better and wanted to do something different than all the other stock Rams out there...

Maybe a catback (or muffler-back) off of a Sport would sound throatier. I'm not sure about the SLT or Big Horn.

The same hangers exist on my 2012 Outdoorsman for a dual exhaust setup. You would have to get the bumper with the cutouts of course.

I personally like the sound of my 3" single exhaust.

The cat back exhaust I was looking at was off a 2012 Sport ,pipes ,tips, muffler.About 2000km is all that is on it for $220. cdn. I wonder if they were to bent or cut off they would fit with my bumpers.

i honestly think it doesn't look right when you custom make a duel exhaust for a dodge that doesn't have the cut out bumper for duels. I had mine custom made that it has one pipe out the side with a 4'' polished tip doesn't look too bad imo. the 2013 Ram Outdoorsman along with other single pipes out the side is pretty much the same set up, up to the muffler from the duels. the duel goes from 3" to duel 2 1/2" where as the single is 3" all the way to the back. I can post pics if needed?

the rear bumper should be the same for all 4th gens including the 13's. you can find them on ebay for about 350 paint to match I think rockautl.com has primed ones for about the same. Not sure what a dealer will charge. the swap is very easy. 6 bolts holding the bumper to the truck and another 8 I think holding the braces to the bumper. the plastic topper just pops off and will fit the new bumper. I like the look of the cutout bumper better than having the exhaust hanging below the bumper. I'd spend the extra money and get the rear bumper. that's the route I went on my 2012 slt.

I'd just swap mufflers and chop the pipe after the axle so it's hidden.

Adding duals will just be cosmetic. If anything, it will be more quiet. We have only 1 resonator, and they have 2. Just swap the muffler, and add a nice tip. If you want to spend the hundreds and $hundreds for a new bumper/exhaust, do it. I actually thought of it also, because I do like the looks of the dual cut-outs. It's a feature that "only Ram has".

Take a sawzall to that bumper & make your own. Or a hole saw and run the tips in the bumper like the old Mustangs and Mopars did. That would be something different. Measure 50 times and cut once! lol It could be done nicely with a skilled hand.
