I am wondering if anyone as change there spark plugs in there 2013 Ram. I have 45000 km.

I have the same question for the same year/make/model. Dealer says change the plugs every 30K. Is that for non-platinum plugs? What is OEM on the 2013?

Just replaced my plugs on my 2013 ram 5.7 hemi. I did them at 58,000km. Replaced the stock with regular ngk non platinum, $6 a plug it cost me. platinum plugs ngk 12-18 per plug depending where you buy that's of course you want to run that type. Dealership recommended every 50- 55k to have replaced that's based on OEM non platinum plugs, said the stock ones I had in there still looked good even at that mileage. I put on 100-300km a day on my ram along with running min. 89 octane and sometimes 91. seems to keep everything running good.

OEM plug run on the 2013 rams is usually champion plugs, that's in BC, Canada not sure if it's the same for States.

Champion & NGK are usually the OEM plugs
I bought mine through RockAuto's website, best prices, great service, quick delivery

I changed my plugs at 34,000 miles the first time, i had been using 89 octane Am/Pm gas
The electrodes still had nice square edges & it had a good color

The 2nd time that i changed them i waited until the plugs had 47,000 miles on them, 81,000 total miles
The color was still good, but the electrodes edges had begun to round off

I am now at 120,000 miles, so it is time to order & change plugs again & get the throttle body, etc. thoroughly cleaned by an ASE certified shop

I am also due for my first Smog Check in February
I have to remove my Oil Catch Can hoses & return it to stock to pass California's visual Smog part of the inspection

Yeah, I'm almost at 25,000 miles now. That trip home to Texas and back for Thanksgiving added about 3200 to the odometer in less than 2 weeks.

I'm going to ask if they changed plugs for the late '13+ trucks because they now have a 100,000 mile interval. If its because of a new type of plug I'll get those put in.

Hmmm.

It'll be my 3rd time doing plugs on these 4th Gen Hemi's.

I will just buy the NGK platinum's as I am sure that's what the 14 Hemi trucks have if their interval is now 100k.

I have been told that the early '13's, which didn't have the platinum plugs, have had some issues with switching to them. The dealer says that they won't put them in because of the issues. I don't get it. It's the same 5.7 Hemi. What was changed to make it so the longer lasting platinums work in the later 2013's, and beyond? Is there something else that needs to be done so as the plugs fire properly?
