Default 2013 Ram 2500 Laramie Ordering Updates

I ordered a new 2013 Ram 2500 Laramie from my dealer 4 weeks ago and have been told by the dealer that they have not gotten a production date yet! Does anyone know if it is delayed because of demand or did my dealer screw something up when they ordered it. Others have mentioned that they get email updates on their orders, but my dealer never mentioned anything like that to me. Just looking for your thoughts/advice. Thanks!

2013 2500's are on lots now. Something sounds strange to me. Most get an email essentially confirming order and enabling you to track the order. It's called VOTS I believe...not highly accurate, however.

Do you have a VIN or vehicle order number?

Thanks for your reply. Stopped by the dealer again today and still no production date. I do have the von, but can't log into vots for some reason. Truck was ordered on 2/25/13and the order confirmation has a status of BG- Order has passed edit but cannot be considered for scheduling. Not sure if this is an issue with one of my options (got everything but the sunroof). It is listed as scheduling priority 1 so keeping my fingers crossed something shows up soon.

rear end ratio 3.92 is one of the hold ups, but worth waiting for

I believe the RA2 radio 5" screen is just now coming in the Rams, it was held up for a bit

is your 2500 going to be a 4X4 ?

What body style are you getting ?

I know (from other members here) they have not starting rolling with the 3500. With the 2013 MY 2500 being on lots, I suspect it's just a scheduling issue or parts shortage of some sort. Sounds like you've got a great truck ordered! Patience is a virtue...something I need more of while waiting on my 1500.

PS: may I ask why you're ordering the 2500 with a Hemi? Just curious...reconsidering my 1500 order, and sort of polling everyone I see with a 2500 or 3500.

My truck will have 3.73 rear end and Uconnect 8.4AN radio/navigation screen. Yes it is 4x4 and I ordered a Laramie with all the bells and whistles except sunroof.

I currently have a 2003 2500 with a Hemi and have had no mechanical problems with the engine or transmission so it made it hard for me to want to switch to diesel. Also my '03 only has 45,000 original miles on it so I couldn't justify paying the extra money for a diesel and the added maintenance costs when all I use the truck for is pulling the camper and running errands around town. The '03 with less horsepower and torque than the '13 pulls my 8500# fifth wheel with ease. Everyone tells me I'm a fool for trading the '03 with such low miles for a truck payment but I fell in love with the '13.

I emailed Dodge customer service and they informed me that the reason for the delay on my truck is because the CHMSL lamp with camera is on restriction until 4/8/2013. So they said the earliest my truck would be assigned a VIN and begin the production process is 4/8. Not what I was hoping to hear, but at least now I know what is going on.

Did they tell you want the actual order status was?

BTW, I have the CHMSL camera on my order... I've had a VIN since around the 2nd week in Feb... Original order was in Jan, but it wouldn't pass edit (Status BX), because I had 4.10s on the order, with the Cummins... When I removed the 4.10s, within what seemed like a few days, order went to D1 status, when I got the VIN, then moved back to D status and now sits at C status... All Ram can tell me that there is a Containment problem with the 3500 build and at this time, they don't have an estimate on when full production will start.
