BTW, I have the CHMSL camera on my order... I've had a VIN since around the 2nd week in Feb... Original order was in Jan, but it wouldn't pass edit (Status BX), because I had 4.10s on the order, with the Cummins... When I removed the 4.10s, within what seemed like a few days, order went to D1 status, when I got the VIN, then moved back to D status and now sits at C status... All Ram can tell me that there is a Containment problem with the 3500 build and at this time, they don't have an estimate on when full production will start.
They did not tell me what the actual order status was. According to dealer last week status was BG- Order has passed edit but cannot be considered for scheduling. So I am guessing production won't start until restrictions are lifted. Going to give it 3 more weeks and if status has not changed I am thinking about canceling my order and order a 2014 this fall. I wish Dodge and the dealership would learn how to communicate with their customers!

What I've heard, so far from Ram and it's dealers are on the 2013 3500 are ....

1. 3500s will start shipping April 1
2. Full production will start on April 1
3. Full production will start in May or June and the reason is emissions on the Cummins.
4. No idea on when full production will start - This last one was told to me directly by a regional Chrysler rep.

Now based on what's being reported by fleet management companies, like Donlen and Arifleet, I'm thinking, ok hoping, #2 is the most likely.... The reason is is because they are reporting the Cummins comes off of restriction then.

Then again, maybe 4/1 is just a big April Fools joke!

Crabby-you could always go with a 1500!! I'm kidding. Stay the course...when you do receive the 3500, it will be one heck of a truck.

Is it a cause for concern that the 2013s will only be in production for ~4 months before the switch to 2014?
I'm planning to order my 3500 next week at some point but have a nagging feeling that I shouldn't.

I know a few of ya'll are cancelling your orders, am I a fool for putting an order in at this point? (as opposed to being a fool in general)

Personally I am waiting for them to hit the lots, and am hoping for large rebates (after initial surge of buyers) since they will probably be a slow mover due to everyone waiting for 14.

Other then taking a hit for getting a vehicle that will a year order, once the '14s hit the lots, I don't see any issues.

Once they start production, what ever the problem they're having should be a non-issue. And with production starting so late, the '13s will probably be the same as the early '14 models. I think if there's any changes to the '14s it'll happen as a 2014.5 model..

Dodge never told me what the actual production status is. When I checked with the dealer the status is listed as BG- Order has passed edit but cannot be considered for scheduling. I am assuming production won't start until CHMSL restriction is lifted. I am frustrated and disappointed with the communication from Dodge and my dealer. Apparently a $50,000 truck is not worth their time

My truck moved to C status this week! So keeping fingers crossed I will get a VIN and production will start in the next week or two. Just glad to see there is finally a change in status after 5 weeks.
