Does anybody know of the Canadian site for online warranties? My truck is due to land in a couple of weeks.

Thanks

I didn't buy the extended warranty but my dealership offered.....I guess I'd call it maintenance insurance. Basically if anything on the truck breaks I can take it to any repair shop and pay $100 deductable and get my truck fixed. The cost of parts and everything is covered.

Default Extended warranty

I sure did. Bought it for my 2005 the day before the 3 year 36,000 ended. 2 weeks later the dealer rebuilt the front end, all the ball joints, a couple tie rod ends, some other stuff, all for the $50.00 ded. They did it again along with a front driveshaft & power steering pump in 2012. The ded applies to all the repairs they make at the time you take it in. So when my radio started acting up I waited until something else went wrong, the P/S pump & they replaced both uner the $50 ded.

You dont have to get it until just before the factory warranty expires. I got mine the day before it did.

Nope I never buy extended warranties. If it is going to cost me that much I will just trade the thing.

Best I've been able to find on a 7 year, 85000 mile warranty is $1330 (genuine Chrysler). Honestly that seems pretty cheap for the benefit. Covers me for 7 years at 12k miles per year (about my average).

Any thoughts? What did you do?
No darn way. It is a huge rip off.

That's what I'm thinking. My dealer wanted $3600.

I went with the lifetime one, but I think I payed more than anyone else somewhere around 3K. But it still boils down to dealer discretion if you have made modifications to the vehicle. Yes I know about the mods ruling, forgot the specific law suit name though.

Never buy extended warranties, never will. It is basically just another form of insurance. I prefer to only insure against the catastrophic stuff - house burning down, getting run over by a truck, running someone over with the truck, etc. The few hundred to few thousand stuff I can pay for out of pocket. In the long run I am much farther ahead financially by skipping all extended warranties.

Buying it three years before it even kicks in seems really crazy to me. It is like paying my 2017 homeowners insurance policy today. Who knows if I decided to move, die or burn the place down long before then.

I got the full lifetime bumper to bumper for 2100 bucks.

I came from a long line of toyotas, lastly a 2010 tundra. They were bullet proof.

but I really liked the Ram and wanted to get one, so I figured for 2100 bucks I wouldn't have to worry.

I mean, lets face it, Chrysler doesn't have a good rep for quality and reliability in the past, I was willing to take a chance that these new ones are better, which so far they are, but I wanted plan B in case it turns out to be a shit-box.

so ya, extended warranty for me, especially with all the electronics in this thing. All it takes is the 8.4 screen to go out and that 2K easy right there.

ps. you guys paying those 3K and up prices are getting ripped off. go through the on-line process. my truck sticker was over 48K and I only paid 2100...my dealer tried the 3K+ crap and I said no way, here is my on-line qoute for 2100,

they said, ok we'll match that.....
