Default Where to mount CB

I just received a Cobra 29 as a gift from a buddy. I have a '12 1500 Quad Cab Big Horn with the center console, and MyGig Garmin 430n. The gear shifter is on the center console.

I can't decide on where I want to mount it. Initially I thought I'd like to mount it overhead just behind the map lights. Also toying with the idea of placing it in the bottom compartment of the center console - but I'm afraid it'll overheat. I'd like to avoid as much cutting, drilling, etc as I can.

Now I'm seriously considering a way to fit in into the dash under the A/C heat knobs...

Any suggestions and PICTURES please?!?!

I mounted my exterior speaker at the back of the overhead console, it was taken out of the box that it came in & it is just the guts of the external speaker, the liner was not cut, so it is completely hidden

MY radio is about as large as they make them for going mobile & there is an auxillary cooling fan beneath the radio that blows onto the heat sinks
