Default Need help pics or opinions please!

I have been wanting to mod my truck finally and I'm stuck on what to do... I have a 09 ram 1500 Crew cab 4x4 Laramie. First off, I am looking at doing the hellbent steel 2-2.5" lift. Bushwacker pocket style flares painted to match, black fuel offroad wheels 20x9 with +1mm offset. Here's the thing I will be driving alot on the interstate and in town for the summer and I want to keep descent mpg... I have been looking at the toyo OC at2 in the stock size 275 60r20... Help me with pics or opinions on if it will look stupid with low offset wheel and stock size tires and flares. I figured the tires will stick out .25 inch then stock now so with flares it shouldn't look bad... Also maybe just the 2" level? Please help!

Ahhh two posts. I think the mods should delete the other one, because this section is more appropriate, so I'll post again.

don't those flares stick out over 2.5" inches? every thing sounds good, esp for what you want to accomplish. I'm just worried with that low offset and those big ol' flares it might look strange. I saw another guys truck on here with pocket style with stock wheels and it looked silly.

I have -12mm and they stick out 1.5" give or take, and I'm even nervous to go with those flares because they stick out so far.

Ya pocket flares stick out 2.5". I would definitely be going with a different offset if you plan on running those. It looks ridiculous having big flares with tires that are 2" inside them IMO.

On a 2x9 you'd probably want a -24 offset or on a 20x10 a -12 offset just for the tires to sit flush with the flare.

As far as tires go I don't think I'd stay with stock size if you are putting the bushwacker flares on. With those flares it sounds to me like you're going for the beefier look.... stock size tires won't give you that no matter what kind they are. Plus again, it just looks funny having those tiny tires with huge pocket style flares. Personally I'd say go for 35's.... It will look the best and if you eventually add a tuner and a few other small mods it won't be too much of a hit in MPG off stock.

do you have to get the huge flares? you can get smaller profile flares that will look fine with what you are going for

Ya, I'd say if you just plan on leveling the truck and sticking with a close to 0 offset wheel then the OEM flares are your best option. Pocket style flares look a lot better on a lift truck but can be really crammed looking on just a leveled truck with big tires.

However if you do go with a 20x9 with a 0 offset you won't need flares at all....

Very true. I just like the looks of the flares. I'm thinking oem flares now. With the stock size tire and 1mm offset wheel would it be dumb to level the truck out with the hbs 2.5" lift?! Thanks gonefishin and Brandon!
