Default Transmission Fix...?

Hey everyone, bought a 98 dodge ram 4x4 5.2 couple weeks ago. I noticed that it had an issue getting into 2nd or 3rd gear sometimes. So i checked spark plugs, changed throtle body position sensor and ect and still was happening. Did a pan drop and didnt see anything bad, so i simply decided to disconect the batter for about 45 mins. reconnected it, drove about 40 miles to work, and hasnt been an issue since. Did disconnecting the battery and reconnecting actually work? found it strange...any one else know about this?

If it is an automatic tranny, when you dropped the pan & put in new fluid, did you change out the filter(s) ??
The new fluid could have dislodged a spec of dirt in the valve body, that is all it takes to cause issues

Disconnecting the battery would erase any codes & that could have helped too

Yes i replaced the filter too, that was my thinking too, that it was lodged with something. It has a newer Jasper tranny in it, but i dont know when and at what mileage it was installed at.
