Default Diffs in 4WD Lock

Hello People,

I have a question about the way the powertrain behaves in 4WD mode. I have an open diff on my truck, when I put it in 4WD lock will the diff remain open, so in reality I have 2 or 3 driving wheels? One rear and one (or two?) front? Do the diffs lock in 4 Low and all four wheels spin the same speed?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Edited for spelling.

An open diff is always open, no matter what the position of the transfer case. You have 4 wheels driving until one begins to spin, then the spinning wheel is the only one doing any work.
