Default Coolant temps ?

Next time you guys are running around in truck take a look at what your coolant temps are and could you please tell me what your seeing and what outside temps are. I'm coming out of a 2011 CTD and the hemi seems to be running alot warmer on average, just trying to see if my temps are normal

i'll update my sig as well, but i have a 2013 sport 5.7 3.55 all stock

Tia...

upwards of 210 the 3500 CTD was pretty solid around 203 and I thought the hemi had a 200 degree t stat as well and figured it should be the same.
I only have 250 miles but i dont think that has anything to do with it,

Thats coolant not oil or trans!

I think it's a 203 f thermostat stock, I see those numbers, lately around the 200 f mark, my oil runs around 205 f and my trans, I am usually seeing 160 f give or take.

Apparently the 2013 Ram engineers decided that the automatic transmission operates most efficiently at 190 degrees F

Here is a video telling about the new Thermal Management system
http://www.ramtrucks.com/en/2013/ram...photos_videos/

In our pursuit for efficiency there are less obvious things. One is thermal management.

The engine and transmission oil is most efficient at 190 degrees. But unless the truck is operating at max capability, the oil never gets that warm.

Thermal management heats the oil, so even during everyday use, it reaches 190 degrees.

I see above 200 degrees F for oil temp on a regular basis, I suppose it's where it's supposed to be. I'll be interested to see what temp I get in the middle of summer pulling my trailer. Unless someone says it's detrimental, I am going to go for the 180 thermostat, although I don't see that being a problem.

I see 200-210 regularly. My instincts tell me to put a cooler stat in... but my brain says they would have done that form the factory if it would be better. Im gunna leave it alone for now.
