Default should i down size to a 1500 from a powerwagon

i currently have a '12 powerWagon, im thinking of making the switch to a '13 1500 Laramie with the air suspension and 8 speed transmission.
i would have done it this past weekend but i could not find any with the air suspension within a 500 mile radius of me.

begining to think its a sign to not get rid of the power wagon now.
the features on the power wagon i will hardly every use, but i have to admit its one cool rugged beast of a truck. just i think the 1500 has the features i would most use for every day life.
any opinions pros and CONs would be much appreciative

The power wagons are Awsome but yes a lot of features that will not be used on a daily basis unless going off road. It really depends on how you are going to use the truck. I would love to have a power wagon but would be in the same boat your in. Would maybe use the winch and sway bar disconnects once or twice a year. I have a hard time taking a 30K plus vehicle off road and putting it in harms way to get damaged or scratched.

i only had 700miles on it before i took it of road. pulled a half a tree down useing the winch and pulled a friend out of a mud hole. only got a few light scratches on itbut i knew it would happen and u dont see them unless youre looking for them.ive got tons of rock chips on the rocker panels and i havent been off road......i have 7300 miles on it now and it was 53k dollars..... if i trade this in i will break even.

The only reasons I see to keep the power wagon is a zombie apocalypse or if you are going off-road pretty often. And I don't think a zombie apocalypse is coming any time soon so I think it depends if you use it off-road very often. That is why I got a 1500 instead of a power wagon. Also the 1500 would probably ride a little better and be easier to use as a daily driver because its a bit smaller. That is just my opinion though. It all comes down to what you want more! If you like the looks and capabilities of the Power Wagon more than you like the practicality of the 1500 stick with it!

And I just noticed you are going for the 8 speed. I just got my 8 speed hemi and I absolutely love it! I do not have air suspension though so I can't comment on that, I wanted to have the option to lift. But even without the air suspension my truck rides great.

Only put on about 320 miles, I am still on the tank of gas from the dealership. But I think my average is 17 something right now. On the highway going around 75mph my instant mpg is usually 20 or 21mpg. the first 150 or so miles of driving I was getting terrible mileage but after a while it started to get much better. And I have not been driving very smoothly, I have been "enjoying" it .

I heard an automotive reviewer talking about that very issue. Buying a truck heavier than you require costs you a heavy premium in fuel bills and ride comfort. I have a 2013 Laramie 1500 Quad Cab and I love it and my son wanted me to get a Power Wagon, which is a great truck but I would never use half of the heavy duty features on it and the 1500 is perfect for what I really require.....going to Home Depot and picking up what I need for my next home project....However I am going to put the Total Load Control air bag system on the rear to equalize what could be saggy coils when I have a heavier than normal load. Personally I think you'll enjoy the 1500 8 speed enormously......but it depends how much it will cost you for that switch to a more light footed 1500......Good Luck....but I would do it if it's at a reasonable cost...
