Default is fuel pressure causing multiple misfires?

the check engine light starts flashing at around 1500 revs under load it doesn't do it when it's in park or neutral. I was told that if the fuel pressure isn't precisely right it can cause misfires. does anyone know those numbers for where I can find that information?

Spec is 49 psi =/- 5 psi, so "precisely right" isn't really true. Volume is also a concern. You should be flowing about 1/2 pint in about 5 seconds or so.

Your malfunction sounds far more like an intake plenum vacuum leak, been there twice. Look for the oily telltale residue down the throttle throat with the throttle held wide open. use a good flashlight.

Well, I finally figured it out. I feel like such an idiot, after checking the tune up twice and doing other diagnostics to no avail I had a friend move the number 6 plug wire while I was laying across the engine looking at the distributor and saw the wire on the number 4 post move. Two other people looked at the same thing and didn't see it either, unbelievable.
