Your shock is just under a little pressure which is putting that tension on the lower shock bolt. If you are feeling hulkified, you could attempt to push down on your lower A-Arm which will relieve some tension on the bolt, granted, you still have the upper three nuts holding your shock up in place. Or you can use a small pry bar between the lower A-Arm and the bottom of the shock prying lightly to relieve the tension for the bolt to slide out. I forgot to ask; You do have a pair of jackstands under your recommended frame jack points, yes?

I had to hammer mine through on my 2007 I just took a screw driver and a mallet and pushed the bolt through..... you might need someone else to sort of adjust it but it just all depends..... putting them back in is going to be your hard part but it will work I promise!

Post Thanks

Thanks for the advice and yes I do have my jack stands in the correct area. Thought I had all the tension off the shock but have not tried putting a pry bar below the shock so I will give that a try. Thanks for the help.

Are you talking about the lower strut bolt at the lower control arm?

On my 2007 it was seized into the bushing. we had to bang it out...destroying the bushings which we had to sawzall out and replace. And I'm not the only one who had it this bad. Here is a great write up in case you need it.

Spray some PB Blaster or actaully I've heard trans fluid and acetone 50/50 mix? let me double check that. Let it sit over night. Get a big effin hammer and bang it out. It's completely miserable, I had my truck in my buddys garage for a week.
