Default Performance Chip

Hey. I got a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 4.7 V8 in it. I was wondering if this performance chip would be a good buy or if there are any other ones out there that are more efficient and better. Thanks for the help. http://autochipsdirect.com/Dodge%20P...00%201994-2011

Please don't buy this. waste of money.

You'll have to get a real TUNER to see any gains. See if super chips makes one for your truck/engine, I think they do. they are pricier (couple hudnred $) but that's because they actually work and tune the trucks computer properly instead of just tricking it like these "magic chips" do

IF you do a little research on here I think you will find that no one is recommending a Chip. If you want real performance gains a tuner is the way to go like the Diablo Sport Trinity.

Diablo's site doesn't list the intune for his 2003 4.7

superchips 3865 works for the 2003 4.7L

Just a few days here and I LOVE IT!!
I really like it that there are some people in here who understand the waste of money of a chip in a gasoline engine.
I 100% agree.

Spend the money for a real tuning incl. head work with hardware (cam shaft), Valve reworking, improved air intake (not the $20 power pipes from autozone) sport exhaust (also not the $50 cherrybomb), light weight flywheel if with manual transmission, axle ratio change, - the full program- or buy another truck with the bigger engine.
and on the other hand - for what???- driving 60 mp/h?

Thanks to all!

All those performance chip do is send a false signal to the ECU that fools it into thinking the truck is cold so it provides a richer mixture. That's it!

Thanks for all the input. You saved me a little bit of money. But by looking at the Superchips you might not have saved me money. Im just going to go with the Superchips 3865. Thanks for the help.

it'll be worth it. then if u ever have a check engine light you now have a code reader/clearer. they are very worth it
