Red face Anti-Theft (Tracking devices)

Hi, I quickly searched the other threads .. looking for some thoughts on Tracking Devices such as .. Lojack ..
Is the Theft Alarm Notification with Uconnect and the Factory Alarm system good enough ?
Any thoughts ?

i have a 2009 Ram & the factory Alarm sucks a big one
True it keeps a normal thief from starting the vehicle without getting a hold of the Key Device first & it does sound off if a door is opened when the alarm is set
That is about all it does

a smart crook could drill a hole up through the inner fender & into the battery, shorting it out, & do anything they want, strip it, tow it, etc

Looks like someone knows there way around alarms

I have a 2 way Alarm system with a kill-switch.. so if someone were to hit my truck, brake anything, open the tailgate to fast, or even put a dent in it.. That individual will be deaf with 2 Horns.. and I will be notified by the alarm fob which has a little screen and will light up and make sounds.. It also works as an alarm clock and a stop watch
Here is the link to mine below.

Uconnect has stolen vehicle tracking. If it's reported stolen they track it and work with police to recover it.

I wouldnt recommend LoJack to anyone...as a 20 year veteran Police Officer and who has worked with LoJack. The product is hit and miss...more then half the time not working right etc...Also for the Police to pick up a Lojack "hit". Police need the LoJack equipment to be installed in there vehicle. At least the department Im on ...lets say out of 800 Police cars, only 1% if that had the equipment.
I wasnt impressed with the system at all. It was a product of the 80's and early 90's. For todays standards there is much better.

That TAG system looks like a viable device

When i bought my Ram, the dealership did chemically etch all my windows for ID #
I also had a BLUE LED flashing light installed, it lights up the whole cab, so light fingered people can visibly see that an alarm is ON
it was put in the 115vac plug cover

Hi, is the Tagtracking only for Quebec ?
Regarding Uconnect has stolen vehicle tracking - is this easy for the crook to disable ?

No idea - I'd hope they took a little advice from OnStar. I recently saw a show that talked about the OnStar capabilities. Pretty impressive. The OnStar box is actually bolted to the frame itself and is tied directly into the cars computer. When the cops get within visual range of the vehicle they can turn on the flashers so they can confirm it's the correct vehicle. If it is they can disable the throttle remotely and the vehicle comes to a slow stop.

It would be great to find out where the main box is installed .. and if it too is bolted to the frame. This would be a great no cost feature to have.
