I just picked up a '13 2500 4x4 and wanted to put some new shoes on it. I was wondering what is the largest tire that has been put on w/o a leveling kit. I searched but only found info on 1500's. I am torn between either going to 18" or 20" rims. My problem is height restriction on my garage door. Thanks for any input. I'd like to see some black 2500's (outdoorsman) with black wheels if at all possible. I am leaning towards Fuel Hostage.
based on past 4th gen trucks and being that the 2500 still retains the same suspension as those, largest tire should be 35x12.5, but you'll get some rubbing at full lock... Lots of people will go 285/75/17 or 295/70/17... They do it with 18 inch wheels to and most state no rubbing.
BTW, do you have a CDT or Hemi? What kind of fuel mileage are you currently getting?
I have the Hemi...I just got out of a Cummins 5.9 6sp dually. Right now I am getting 12-13mpg, truck only has 500 miles on it and no interstate driving as of yet. I knew going in I wasn't gonna see big numbers, I'm ok with that. As for the tires I was looking at 20" set-up with Fuel Hostage +1 o/s and 305 55 20 all terrain tires.
