Default 2012 Ram 1500 non rear hitch/cross member

My '12 came without the receiver hitch, I thought someone might like to get rid of their cross member with welded on receiver and trade for mine. I'd like to be able to tow occasionally, if you don't plan on towing and want a cleaner look for your back bumper....

FYI I think if you crawl up under there you will see the hitch is bolted to the cross member.

Nope, I have looked at it extensively...naked cross member. I can order a bolt on receiver with a lower rating than the welded cross member/receiver, but I'd rather have the welded one.

I am talking about the receiver type not the through the bumper hole. Thanks!

Ok I can't say for sure but I just know every ram I've looked at had a class III bolted on it from the factory that looks like this:

http://www.knowwhere2jeep.com/curt-d...iii-hitch.html

I bought an aftermarket class IV for my truck that is like this:

Yep, the class lV is what I'll have to go with if nothing factory turns up.

Ok gotcha. I highly recommend that curt hitch I posted. That's what I bought(was on sale for the same price as the class III when I bought it) and although it took a little longer to install(have to fish some washers/nuts in the frame rails) it is extremely heavy duty.

Your link for nowhere2jeep shows a class III hitch. Dodge has the class IV in the same style as that is what I put on mine. The only difference in towing capacity is that it requires the use of a weight distribution hitch to achieve the higher towing rating otherwise it will handle the same as a class III.

factory hitch is a class III. There may be an upgrade I'm not sure, but obviously it'd be different. If it were the same then it'd be a class III.

Factory hitch on the Rams is a class IV not a III. You'd definitely want to go with at least a class IV.

maybe the newer rams are different. 2010 and older had a class III. class III is 6000 lb. class IV is 10,000 lb. Class III is more than sufficient for most rams and most people.
