There's a long trail of roasted tranny's, even with minor bolt on NA Rams,
but I've never read about a 4G Eagle Hemi engine failure on ANY
of the Ram Performance boards I frequent. Boosted or not.
Links or it didn't happen
MGH has run his Twin Turbo AWD 2010 Ram HARD since 2011,
Broke a handful of 545RFE's before he figured out how to build a bullet proof one
by trial and error that's been good for over a year now on two of his Turbo builds on 5.7L 4G's
Both 5.7L Rams pushing over 500HP/500TQ (at the wheels) on all stock internals.
You can safely boost to 6-7 psi without worry as long as your a/f doesn't run lean.
The guys pushing 8-9 lbs of boost are using alcohol injection (Water/Meth) kits if they're smart
to keep things cooler/safer while adding more fuel to avoid leaning out the mix at higher RPM.
Benefits Of Water Methanol Injection:
Lower air charge temperatures by 50-250+ degrees
Reduces cylinder temperatures up to 300+ degrees
Increase your 87-93 pump gas by 8-20+ points
Increase horsepower safely by 10-15%
Allows you to safely run more boost and timing
Cools and protects the tops of your pistons and upper ring
Longer more stable combustion expansion and progression
Removes carbon build up from combustion chambers, pistons and valves
Reduces & helps eliminate engine damaging detonation & pre-ignition
No need for expensive racing fuel or additives
