Quick update on my build, since some people think a 545RFE will take the stress
Last Fall, about mid September I smoked the OD frictions on my Stock Trans! (2 months after supercharger install)
sure was FUN while it lasted though
Last run at the track had the trans slipping at every shift (left lane)
Swapped my L&M Customs built transmission right away,
and ATS Triple Lok 3000 Stall
But Smoked the OD frictions on that one within just TWO Weeks
...I did not get my transmission tuning in time, thought it was okay to run,
but I guess without the line pressure boosted to hold the frictions they burned up.
It's been parked for the Winter ever since.
I Now have my trans tune, and the snow is almost gone
Also have a new modified Ripp tune (was too rich before)
Thanks to Mike (MGH) working with Josh at HHP.
Mike sent me all new OD Frictions for his Trans, no charge
and a full set of over drive, under drive, 2C Frictions and Steels
to rebuild my original stock trans from one of his cores.
Stock Over Drive, Under Drive clutch packs:
Stock 2C (intermediate 2nd frictions)
Replacement L&M OD (12 Double Sided Alto Red Eagle Frictions)
My bud Brad (MGRAM) and I will crack the stocker open this weekend,
R&R the frictions on that one as a trial run, since it's already on the bench.
If all goes well, the following weekend we'll drop the L&M trans out and do the same.
