Default Trailer brake control harness, help?

Has anyone Installed a trilogy controller ? It has a single plug adapter, however there are 3 open plugs under steering wheel.

I would just get the OEM brake controller and install that, its plug and play if you have the 2 connectors under the dash. JMO

I only have the one plug. And had to put in a after market one. Not happy about it was told by salesman I could just plug in the ome one. Why would ram not put in the wiring when the truck has the tow package.

No need to go to the dealer, but If you have the Evic, you can have them program it in, you will then get more options for the controller in your Evic and you will get info on the screen when using it, you don't need to look down at the unit to see what its setup or if its working.

+++ I installed the OEM unit and did not get my truck flashed. The controller works fine, just no display or control using the EVIC.

Maybe I will get it flashed in someday but I have not been back to the dealer since I bought my truck in 03/12 and I am very please about that. No dealer trips in the first year of owning a new vehicle is a first for me.

Same here, have not been back to the dealer since 03/12. no issues and it works great, I just find that with my 20' trailer I have to set it fairly high, but it does the job fine and works great. Must be the trailer.

To the OP, I believe all you will need is the wiring adapter to go from your controller to the factory 4 pin connector.

Something like this.

I had a Hopkins before my Ram and I was going to install it but decided on getting the OEM unit. This was the wiring harness I needed to buy. It plugs into the OEM 4 wire connector under the dash and the open ends get wired to the plug on the back of your controller.

Like this one.

I hope this helps.
