That sounds like it is possibly a rod bearing. I am not an expert though. I wouldn't sign for that truck if you haven't already

Ditto on bearing knock. I had a 2009 Ram hemi that they replaced short block with that noise then came back 5k miles later. It was louder when I put it in gear.

That's doesn't sound right. My 5.7 doesn't make that noise. I wouldn't buy it, even if it was "normal", I don't like the way it sounds.

Does the sound change on idle between neutral and in gear? Does it go away when you rev it up? Mine sounds similar in park and idling in the garage or next to a wall like at a drive up. It does not make the noise when I rev up the engine or while I'm driving.

That sounds like a bad bearing... Move on to a different truck and save yourself from a very large headache!
