Default Side steps coming out!

I was standing on my side steps the other day to clean off the snow from my truck and I felt a little give in my footing. At first I didn't think anything of it, but a few days later that when I put my foot on my factory nerf bars, my foot feels like it is at an angle. Upon looking at the mounts underneath, it looks like my back fasteners are coming out of the body and the middle fasteners are starting to come out. I cannot believe that they mount these to the body and not the actual frame.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? I am hoping to have time this weekend to unbolt them and see if I can re-seat the fasteners in the body.

I felt same give in mine also, then next thing I know the running board broke free from the mounts.

Do you have any pics of your new brackets? I would be interested to see how they look compared to stock.

Here is a link to pictures. I put them from the inside of rocker panel threw the hole on top of the two holes that bolt to step bracket

So is it still using 2 bolts then? I think that is the problem. There is too much leverage on the mounts, on the 13's, they have 4 attach points, the second 2 bolts connect to the seam below the upper bolts. This is what I am talking about.IMAG0144.jpg

That definately looks beefier than stock, looks well fabricated.
