Default Door Lock/Unlock problems

Ok - just got this 2013 dodge 1500. Everything worked as designed, until yesterday....

On exit, I open the doors, all the doors unlock and then about 5 seconds later, they all lock without me doing anything. Well that's strange, I don't recall changing anything in settings.

Also, the little lock button on the exterior door handle doesn't work - lock or unlock.

When you get in the truck, the doors lock immediately and the horn sounds 3 times.

FINALLY, the drivers door inside lock/unlock switch stopped working - all this started happening yesterday.

I seem to have an intermittent problem with the little button on the passenger side when locking.

Did a little more research - it appears that even after engine shuts off you can hear the door locks cycle 3 or 4 times (trying to lock) until power is cut off to everything. Strange.

I have the exact same issue that started yesterday. Did you resolve this?

Unhappy Door Lock/Unlock problems

I have the exact same problem as well. 2013 Ram 2500 Laramie. I have an appointment with the dealer this afternoon and well report what I find out.

This is a very annoying problem. I am starting to miss my 99 Dodge Ram 2500 I traded in. NEVER a warranty repair in the 14 years I owned it.

I've had issues with the lock/unlock button not working from time to time. But it usually seems to reset itself after I use the lock/unlock button on the fob. I've thought of trying a reset on the UConnect (pushing "volume" & "browse/enter" buttons together for about 10 seconds) & seeing if that makes any difference, but haven't done that yet.

This may solve your mystery. I was having the same thing happen until I realized I was opening the door before killing the engine. I would push the lock button on the inside driver-side door panel and start to walk away when I heard the door unlock and the horn toot 3 times. If you turn the engine off first before opening the drivers door it should work correctly. That is unless you have a different issue.

My door lock problem was resolved by the dealer yesterday. The lock switch was defective causing my door to continually lock. They replaced the switch panel (which includes not only the door lock/unlock but also windows and mirrors. My truck is back to normal. My only other comment is my 99 Dodge Ram diesel NEVER had a warranty repair in the 14 years I owned it. I was starting to wonder if I had made a good decision to get the new one... time will tell. I sure hope it isn't plagued with inferior parts. My 99 was rock solid and still looked and ran great.

This may explain why I see this issue randomly. I've not paid attention to opening the driver's door and turning off the engine but I will now.

Thanks!

I thought I had my issue solve but mine is still doing something strange every once in a while that I haven't figured out yet. When I turn the ignition off, open the door and push the door panel lock, get out of the truck and close the door the horn will beep 3 times and unlock the door.

What's up with that? It doesn't do that every time.
