Default '04 3500 front end rattle over bumps

We're awaiting our new Ram and will be selling our '04 soon. There's been a metallic sounding chatter in the front end when driving over rough bumpy roads. We've had it in to two different dealerships. The first one found a leaking shock so changed all four. They knew that didn't fix it but couldn't find the problem. The second service department changed the sway bar links and bushings. That helped a bit but there's still an annoying rattle. It doesn't stop when brakes are applied. Lower ball joints were changed two years ago. There's nothing loose in the steering. Any thoughts?

Thanks
Dave

I had what sounds like the same problem. I changed the d/s upper control arm due to a bad upper ball joint and it took care of it on that side and for the p/s it was my wheelbearing and the noise was gone all the way. Hope this helps

Thanks iveyusmc. Is there a way to determine if one or both uppers are causing this such as jack up the front enough to try moving the control arm? I can check the bearings as well.

Dave
