Default stock shock lifetime.

Hi i have a question. I have a 2005 dodge ram 3.7 6 speed and have had the truck for almost a year and the other day i rotated the 22s and was looking at the shocks and noticed it has the Chrysler logo stamped on the shocks... Truck currently just rolled over 188,000 miles and just wanting to know what the lifetime use of the shocks are before they are shot... It rode pretty good with the stock 17s but i noticed alittle more movement with the 22s but still rides pretty good.... hopefully it makes since.

usually 80 to 100k Is about the limit where shock will start going bad One Way If Wanting to Check Before Purchasing New Ones Is To Take Shock Loose and push it all the way in and let go it should not take more than 5 seconds for gas shocks to open all the way back up If It Don't move At All Its Definitely bad

I thought so... I dont think they replaced the shocks with factory replacements i would be surprised if that happend... I had a 99 nbs gmc that had body roll when on the highway it would get blown around and i put new ones on and it was nigh and day difference it had 250,000 miles... I am planning on trying to do a 3/5 drop so hopefully i can make it till tax time to afford to do that...

Beware I Was Going To do a 2/5 drop on mine till I found out 5 inchs of travel is all you have in rear If 2 wheel drive so to have any suspension travel in rear on a 5 drop you will have to have a frame C notch put in with 5 inch drop

I hear ya, towing with a 5th wheel or goose neck maybe alittle hard with a c-notch not sure how that would work together but using the hitch on the frame it shouldnt effect that much. Granted i dont have much of a tow rating with this truck with the v6...
