I use Etrailer as a reference site for towing
http://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2012_Ram_1500.htm

there is a huge difference between a Class 3 & Class 4 hitch
my 2009 Ram came with a Class 4 Hitch Receiver
it has never been used, but in case I need to tow anything, the Ram is ready to haul ass
I have used for other things though

Hey, I realize its been a year since your post about your hitch.. I'm wanting to replace my hitch crossmember with a regular one (for looks). Do you still have that plain crossmember? Unfortunately I can't offer too much for it.. let me know!

(sorry for the bump, would PM but I don't have many posts on this forum)

Diggin up bones ... but I appreciate this thread.

Would anyone happen to have the torque specifications for all the bolts involved in swapping these out?

And ... I'll have a plain cross member (55398273AD) available soon too.

Your welcome, that's what we're here for. That's funny, cause I finally threw my old original cross member in with a load of scrap metal a month ago.
