Default Platinum Plugs

Anybody put Bosch platinum plugs in? I can get them cheaper than the OEM NGK coppers.

I've seen some talk that the platinum plugs will melt coils. I find that hard to believe since I put platinum plugs in my 97 Grand Prix 75000 miles ago without issue. I called a local shop I know and they said they've never seen a platinum plug melt a coil. The shop's opinion is Dodge/Ram put copper in so the can get people in for 30K service.

Any thoughts?

My owners manual calls for the NGK copper plugs to be replaced at 64,000 miles.

Where in the manual?

The service charts in the back say 30000 miles.

everyone who'se tried them gives negative feedback. Either use oem copper or the oem iridium that come in some hemi's. Copper ~30-50k mile life. Iridium ~100,000 mile life.

The platinums caused issues in the early 3rd gens that had the exhaust burn in the opposing cylinder. I haven't heard of anyone ACTUALLY having issues in the late-3rd and 4th gens that use the newer coil-over-plug setup since too may people have heard of the previous issues and everyone steers clear of them.

Copper runs better than Platnium. I took the plats out of my G8 and put in copper! The car was like a total diferent feel. The car used to quiver- much smoother after.
