Default Tonnopro tri fold fit

Just purchased a Trifold tonneau for my 09 Ram Crew cab. Looks and fits great other than tailgate. I cant shut gate without having to lift up cover a bit.

Is this normal?? anyone else??

I know my friend has to shut the tailgate 1st on his f150 before he shuts the bak flip g2 and my roll up was the same way it hit the tailgate unless it was close after the tailgate or lifted just enough to get the tailgate under it

Watersupply851

I had that cover on my truck and yes the fit at the gate is terrible. I just slammed mine shut for the 2 days I had it on. I found the fit and finish of that cover terrible and sent it back.

Believe me you can move and play with the cover all you want, there is no avoiding the tailgate problem. Good Luck and hope you find it a better cover than I did.

On my Bakflip F1 the required procedure is to close the tailgate first, then lower the last panel in place. Easy to do, works fine.

Agree but problem with TonnoPro cover is when you adjust it at the rear by the tailgate. To get a smooth closing you have to adjust it so high that it actually leaves a small gap between the side rails of the bed and the cover itself. Looks very sloppy.

have the one peace clasic flip up hard tonneau cover its the low profile one . can open and close tailgate with it in the open or close position . bought it for my 96 dodge st cab , love it; so when traded up kept it and mounted it on new 09 st cab . the inside of rail lip was an inch to long so had it cut back an inch fits great, also my 96 was white so had it painted black to mach new picup . only cost 300 bucks to have changed . better than 1200 it would cost new now .

Had the tonnopro on my 2010 crew cab and switched it to my 2012 when I traded it in, there is a little bit of rub, but leave it on for a few days without accessing the bed, and the seal will form to the tail gate area.

mine was the gemtop classic hard top . works grate after cuting back 1 inch . I like it cause u can if want mount a bike rack on it if needed . it is the low profile as the outer hard lip fits on the rails with a seal there . it's like a glove box on your bed of picup .
