That would be my guess. In the short term it's probably just easier to replace the radio with one that has an older version of the software. Then they contacted Uconnect and had the update pulled until they could fix it.
Actually you would think this, but it wasn't the case with my replacement radio.
The unit that the dealer installed to replace my original had the latest revision of the firmware installed from the factory.
While this resolved my problems with the truck staying on and the dash lights and EVIC staying active, it introduced an inability to send an email to uConnect to initiate a registration for the trial period of the core uConnect features. The folks at uConnect have been working on an update this will fix this and according to a phone call I received yesterday, they have completed it and will "push" it out to all the radios.
I take all of this with a grain of salt. While the uConnect feature set is cool, it's nothing that I'm willing to pay a price for. I guess I'll hear more later today or perhaps on Monday.
