There unable to do this...Once the radio receives the new update the radio itself is unable to rollback to a previous version. This was stated by several members who have the same radio problem. uConnect and Chrys..are working on the software problem...in the meantime the solution at the moment is a radio swap.
If a rollback was possible it would of happened a long time ago.

Or the dealerships don't have the necessary equipment or knowledge to roll back a busted update. I've flashed many Android phones and if you do anything wrong (like flash the wrong ROM) it can severely hose up the phone. It takes serious knowledge and the right software tools to fix a problem like that.

Could also be that, I bet they were caught off guard with this problem and now there jumping through hoops to gather the equipment, train the right people and get the ball rolling.

That would be my guess. In the short term it's probably just easier to replace the radio with one that has an older version of the software. Then they contacted Uconnect and had the update pulled until they could fix it.

They could write a version 14 that is just version 12 re-labeled as 14. This would trigger an update but it would be to a known stable software.

Actually you would think this, but it wasn't the case with my replacement radio.

The unit that the dealer installed to replace my original had the latest revision of the firmware installed from the factory.

While this resolved my problems with the truck staying on and the dash lights and EVIC staying active, it introduced an inability to send an email to uConnect to initiate a registration for the trial period of the core uConnect features. The folks at uConnect have been working on an update this will fix this and according to a phone call I received yesterday, they have completed it and will "push" it out to all the radios.

I take all of this with a grain of salt. While the uConnect feature set is cool, it's nothing that I'm willing to pay a price for. I guess I'll hear more later today or perhaps on Monday.

From my experience, you will not hear back if you just kick back and wait. You will need to make the effort to make follow-up calls with them to see what's going on. You should have your case number and can call in with that. I contact them and the dealer every other day to get the status. My uConnect rep has been very helpful in trying to contact the service manager at the dealer working on my truck.

I opened up a ticket on Tuesday and i called them back about it yesterday afternoon. I was told that i would hear back from them within 5 days. They will keep hearing from me much sooner than that.
