I'm waiting for my 8 speed 3.92 also? How is your trucking running? My truck got pulled off for quality 100% inspection don't know if they are missing parts to finish, but its been there since 4-9. Can't see it being inspection holding it up because they use that vehicle to see how all the others were built before they release all the other vehicles built off that line for shipment?

I ordered my Hemi/8-speed equipped with a 3.92 on January 29. It shipped last week with an ETA to my dealer on April 23.

Whatever it is, it's absolutely friggin ridiculous to be waiting 3 months for a factory order motortrend truck of the year.

I don't care if there's an 8-speed shortage or not. Why would HUGE corporations spend 10's and 100's of millions of dollars to produce a vehicle yet be short on everything purely because of demand?

Ram won tons of awards, completely changed the concept of the truck and all of these delays are simply because too many people ordered? That's bullshit, I'm sorry. I saw my dealer yesterday and he showed me that the options I ordered such as the air ride, 8-speed, wheel to wheel side steps and a few other options were "constrained".

This is the biggest disappointment ever. My truck has sat in "D" status for a month or more and I have no goddam expected ETA because Chrysler customer service is completely unorganized. That 1-800 number shouldn't even exist because those people are useless as tits on a bull. No longer excited for my truck at all.

Domesticman, I disagree, I think they have way too many orders, they are building 1000 trucks a day 6 days a week, 10 hours per shift, they have every saturday scheduled all this year and next, they can't build them any faster....
Ya I am pissed to, want my truck now, but will have to wait.
You don't work at the brampton plant do you?

I don't work there, no. I still have a hard time believing Ram. It's all a cover up to me in my opinion. 1,000 trucks a day and mine was ordered 6 weeks ago? To boot, apparently factory orders from customers automatically jump above a dealers request order as well and yet for many members on this forum, everyone has been waiting for what seems like forever.

The order banks opened in January for the Standard Cab Hemi Eight speed. I ordered one loaded on Feb 12th. I have searched and searched and ask on this forum and I can not find one single standard cab hemi eight speed that has ever been built. Cars.com shows a few but when you go tho the dealers that are supposed to have them they are actually six speeds. To many orders is not the problem with the standard cabs they are just not building any of them for some reason even though they have been taking orders like they are building them.

Maybe Ram truck is taking a page from the model T Ford. You can have any Ram Truck you want as long as it is a 6 speed transmission or is a 4X4.

TRUCK OF THE YEAR is a joke. Anyone remember the Aspen / Volarie being CAR OF THE YEAR back in the mid seventies? That was the worst crap every made by Chrysler and it got awards.
The awards are given by magazines who sell advertizing to car makers. Think it may be based on how many ads they buy? (PS, that's what makes America great)
Oh well, I just got my GUTS / GLORY fridge magnet in the mail yesterday so I feel better now.

So who looks foolish now, the company that can't produce enough product or the magazine who picked this winner?
