I am currently driving a 2009 quad cab slt 4x4 and may possibly be looking to upgrade to a crew because of a growing family

I am looking for opinions as to consider a basically new 12 cc outdoorsman, only has 2000 kms or order a 13 outdoorsman with RAMBOX. The only difference between the two trucks in options is the rambox feature, but that requires putting an order in, as there are none equipped like that in Ontario

Any opinions one way or another would be greatly appreciated

Ill add in there is a at least a 5000 in saving on the 12 plus at least 2000 in extended warranty coverage on a 13

I'm an interior guy, so that's a big reason I chose a '13 over a '12. To me, the interiors are nicer on most of the trim levels. I never thought that I would get the ramboxes. My buddy has an Avalanche that of course has the side boxes and I never saw the worth of those small boxes compared to the smaller box. BUT, I ended up with them on my new truck and I love them. I especially love the fact that in 2013 they are now electronic locks. I use them all of the time.

If it was me, and you decide to go with the 2012, I would just keep the 2009. It is closer to paid off, and the CC isn't worth the extra money to me. I had a 2010 SLT Quad Cab before and now have a 2013 CC. The CC is nice, but I wouldn't trade in JUST for that. I have 2 kids and the Quad Cab did good for us. The CC gives more room, but to me it wouldn't be enough for the additional payments. Just my $.02.

I chose a 13 over the left over 12's for the interior. Saving the money just didn't seem worth it after sitting in a 13.
I had the ram boxes on my 09 and lived them. Didn't think it be a big deal to give them up but it's one of my biggest regrets. Well the ram boxes and getting these 3.55's instead of 3.92's

If your Ram is worn out
get a 2012 with all the discounts

If it is not worn out, wait for the 2014 year model
the 2013 have all new electronics & the radios are crap, besides that, the good options are not even available

Might be worth waiting until you can order a 2014. But, choosing between a '12 or a 13? Definitely a '13.

one of.the reasons i considered are because of.the big.incentives on the 13s right.now that may not be there in 14 in Canada

Crap is a pretty strong word. I think the radio in my truck is the nicest HU I've ever had or even played with. Some people that updated the software have had issues. But the total number of people complaining on this forum is less than 10.

My 8.4an is anything but crap. Combined with the Alpine system and how quiet my truck is inside, it is the best audio system I have ever had in any vehicle.
