So I got my recall notice like 6 months ago, basically like everyone else. I waited a month or so and then called the 800-number. Dodge told me that they still did not have the parts but to wait for another notice in the mail. Waited... never got anything. I called the 800-number again last week and was told that SOME dealerships have the parts so I could call around, or I could wait for the second mailing which would start going out on 10/21/13.

This post got me feelin' frisky so I called my usual dealership this afternoon. They DO have the parts but said that they need to do a full inspection before just repairing the pinion nut. Obviously (and like others have said), if more damage has been done they will fix it at that time as well.

SOOOOO.......I'll be dropping my 2009 off with them tomorrow. I'm optimistic everything will be square. I'm 108,000 miles in and haven't had or heard any issues!!

As i wrote a page or so ago, my Pinion Seal was leaking in July, they caught it & did a replacement.
I then drove to Connecticut & back, 6,800 miles, went in for the oil change in late August & i was informed that my pinion seal was leaking again & they fixed it again, at that time i told the Service Writer that i sure hope that it was done correctly this time & he agreed.

I did a few jobs in September & October
On October 14th i was doing a job out of State & the Ram started making a noise, similar to tires that are way out of line, by the time i had driven another 300 miles home, the noise was louder then my radio & sounded like it was in a hollow tube.
I had another job lined up for the next day, i had to cancel it.
I went to the dealership before 8 am & was the first in line when the Tech came in for the day, same guy that has worked on my Ram every time for the last couple years.
He had also repaired the seals both times.
Here is the Invoice

Guess I need to call my dealer.

Do they always give you a loaner car?

Got an inspection Saturday; asked about the part availability for the Recall...nothing available yet....but good news is that mine is not leaking and the nut has not moved from the paint mark from over a year ago.
Side note: the rear has made a howling noise since the truck was new...I was told they all make that noise. Funny that my 2002 with Dana axles never made a howling noise.

Had mine done today. Technician said there was no problem but they installed the retainer per the recall. I still haven't gotten the recall in the mail, but I could see it listed for my truck on the Dodge website

My dealer said they have some parts in stock for this but not many. I need to get mine in for it.. and the stupid exhaust manifold bolts RRT. Over the phone they told me the bolts are covered under the RRT even if out of warranty. I guess I will see once I get it there in person..

How long did it take. I wonder if I can have it done Saturday and wait on it.

Please tell me the results of the manifold bolts. I had my passenger side bolts break around 40k. They said I was SOL because there was no warranty as I am the second owner and the LT warranty is no longer in effect. Flash forward to now..89k and the drivers side bolts are broke. I am thinking about talking the project myself soon, but if I could convince a dealer to do, I am all for that. The dealer will need my truck in there for the pinion nut recall soon anyways.

I'll have to talk to the dealer about this and see if mine has had the recall completed as I just purchased the truck last week.. we well as a few other items I've noticed over the last couple of days driving it...
