Default HELP - 2013 Laramie with Wrong Gears????

My new Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7 8-speed Crew 4x4 has some issues, the box is very crooked, off to the right by well over an inch, on one side in the mirrir I can see a large part of the fornt of the box, on the left I can't even see it.
Have some vibrations at 55 up.

Hears the BIG one, I bought this to tow my boat, I hooked onto it today and it wouldn't pull worth a crap, my buddy has almost the same truck with the same 3.55 gears I ordered this one with, he pulls a larger boat than me and says it pulls it nice. I decided to crwl under it and look at the gear tag, Holly crap it says 3.21 on both fornt and rear!!! my order sheet, the window stick both say 3.55. . . so I jacked up the rear and I also don't think it has the limited slip rear I paid for, when I turn one tire the other turns backwards, I think that means to posi.

I just turned 1400 miles on it. . . I'm thinking at this point I just want a different truck!! what else is hosed up on it. . . crooked box, vibration, wrong gears, no posi, the truck has no power and I have only been getting 14.5 MPG driving it easy on highway and city combo.

I didn't think 3.21 was even an option on that truck???

Any thoughts????

Thanks for any advise -

That's about what i am getting in gas mileage with that same combo.. i have about 900 miles on mine now.

edit.. That sucks about the gears.. I definitely think you need to take it back to the dealership or contact Chrysler themself and make a big stink about this.

Yes, I agree. What you payed for was what was indicated on your build sheet window sticker. I have been seeing some funky listed options on a lot of window stickers lately though. I was reading a window sticker that the original gear is a 3.21 and then when you get to the options column, I saw 3.92 gear for $50.00 but further below that, a rear gear of 3.55. Say what? Three gear swaps, c'mon! Something smells funky cold medina!

Sounds like a no brainer to me. Take it back for a refund or let them order the vehicle you were promised and the paperwork supports. If what you paid for and the paperwork doesn't match then it sounds like you are in the drivers seat. No pun intended.

Posi is not a locker. One wheel needs some resistance, but not too much for posi-traction to work.

One technique for getting unstuck with posi it to apply a little bit pressure to the brake pedal while also pushing on the gas. This applies some rolling resistance to the LSD and will allow both wheels to drive.

So I was reading this and my truck has 700 miles on her very smooth ride great gas mileage. My Larime Sticker says 3.55 rear axel and i checked the optional equipment side and didn't mention any other differential. Then I got under my truck and no shit it says 3.21. I'm a bit perplexed because according to ramtrucks.com the 3.21 is not an option on the Larime. Now I don't tow but still I would like to know the reason for the switch-er-o!

I would defiantly go back to the dealer you got it from and show them the truck. They should call and find out what happened and help you get it fixed. As much as these trucks cost you should get the options you paid for. I would have them check the bed that might just be an easy alignment issue.

Those gears are unacceptable. I am going to check my truck now just to make sure it has the 3.55's. It should but apparently they are half asleep while building these. I would demand a new one or make them swap the gears, fix the bed, and get rid of any vibrations before taking it back. Maybe that's why mine died in my driveway today. Good luck.
