Default new block for a 1999 dodge ram 2500 turbo diesel

Hello since someone replied to my last post that a block cant be fixed if it has a crack, How do I find a replacement block, what is a good area to search for one. Thanks in advance.

You can google dodge or cummins short blocks and get quite a few returns.

Not cheap, but you might want to consider a long block to avoid assembly issues. Only 1k more for the long block.

I would want to buy the truck dirt cheap if the engine is bad to make it worthwhile.

Thanks I will check that out. The dealership is selling it for 2500 ill see about going cheaper

a wrecking yard is another option at finding a good rebuildable block

The 5.9 cummins can be found in a lot of trucks, Ford and Chevy medium duty trucks use them as well. You may want to look into tractor trailor salvage yards as well.
