Default 14' Silverado

Our local Chevy dealer got in a new 14' Silverado crew cab yesterday, so I took a peek. I was actually thinking of waiting to see these before I ordered my Ram Sport, which I'm still waiting on. Anyway, the new Silverado looks pretty good from the front, I like the new front end. That's where my like of it stopped. The rest is kind of blocky, the wheels on this one were 18's and looked like donuts with as big of a truck as it is. No rear window slider either.

Inside was awful, in my opinion. Super cheap looking with clunky plastic dials and no class. The NAV screen area was plain Jane, and overall was just ugly and cheap.

One thing I noticed is this one has 3.08 rear end, but shows a tow rating of 7,200 pounds. That seemed weird since my Ram will have 3.21 with the new 8 speed and is rated lower.

Anyway, I'm glad I didn't wait to see these before I ordered my Ram, pretty lame truck.

Only good thing is I coulda had a 14' before my 13' ram.

Just wanted to share my thoughts.

To me, they look better in person than in pics. That said, nothing about that truck makes me want one. IMO, the better bang for the buck is still with the Ram.

The area to left with brake controller is UGLY. That's gonna be very nasty looking on a truck that don't have that option.

Just watched the MotorWeek review of them, they definitely look better to me then the older model and Ford fanboys should know that the Chevy V8 will now have the HP and TQ numbers of the 5.0 F-150 with the gas mileage of the Ecoboost. All that being said it still is nothing I would buy. The Ram is way more bang for the buck, the Hemi kicks ass and the Dodge styling looks good to me and this from a guy who drove nothing but Ford's for the last 20 years.

I love the new silverado, but yeah the dash is lame, but it actually looks better on the lesser models with a regular models.

I'm sorry, but as I have stated before, the Fords have a certain look. It is just not for me. On the other hand, the Chevy looks worse than two old ladies' ass cheeks. That's about as plain and honest as I can describe them. Dry heaving just thinking about it! RAM absolutely has the most beautiful styling, and as stated above the best value. JMO.

I've had numerous GM products in the past. They always seem to have a blocky, square, and plastic look to their interiors. The guts always seem to be dependable. I'm ready to take delivery this week on my first truck. The Fords are great trucks, but the Ram sealed the deal with me with the interior and the Hemi engine. The new Chevy/GMC will sell well.
Plus the fact that the largest Ram dealer in the UP is two miles away made a huge difference.
