Default Possible bad slip yoke?

I've been reading a lot around the internet on this. But for years now when I put my truck into gear, it clunks every time. and when I let off the gas, when the truck slows enough it will shift and will have a loud clunk.
And also lately (only when going into third gear) when I hop on the free way. The truck seems to have a tranny slip before slamming into gear and jerking forward. I don't think it's the trans anymore, but rather this slip yoke.

Well... Apparently no one on here even has a clue what a slip yoke is.
But anyway. My problem has turned out to be the complete front CV drive shaft that connects to the t-case. I'm going to replace it and see if my problem goes away. Cons--- The part cost $300

If you are talking about the slip yoke on the rear of the tcase, then it makes sense no one responded as that would not have been the cause of the clunk. The slip yoke just transfers load.

Did they give you/show you the front CV being crappy? You probably could have got one cheaper from the junkyard, the whole driveshaft. I guess you found out the problem is the front DS by removing it and driving to make sure the clunk is gone?
