Default Broken window glass crank issue

I noticed my sons 2001 Dodge Ram passenger side window rattled some when window as rolled down a 5-8 inches. I found how to remove the door panel and found a plastic roller broken that runs in the track of the window crank assembly. The other roller is fine. Do I have to replace the entire crank assembly or is there a way to fix this plastic roller. BTW, this door panel was virgin and had never been taken off, inside of panel looks like new. Your advice or experience is appreciated. LR

If by crank assembly you mean the window regulator, yes, the unit will need replacing.

Yes, the regulator assembly, didn't know at the time what its proper name was. Dealer wants $175 but I found on Ebay aftermarket for $60. I just hope it was a fluke that the original plastic piece broke and if I buy this replacemtnt that it wont happen again anytime soon. Your thought. Has anyone ever found a way to fix modify and reuse or just replace? LR.

I've only seen this happen one other time in the last 5 years and it was on a vehicle with power windows. IMO, trying to repair it would be more trouble than it's worth. While you've got it apart, this would be a good time to lube the window channels. I recommend a colorless spray in grease or a dielectric grease that can be applied with a brush.

Thanks for the good advice. I should get the new regulator next week and I will let you know how it goes, hopefully no issues. LR.

Update. Installed aftermarket regulator with no issues. Wish I had better luck with that front bumper. LR.
