Default 06 Fog Lights/Computer Re-flash?

I bought a set of fog lights for my 06 SLT and the ad says i need to take it to the dealer to re-flash the computer. Really? for fog lights?

anyone know if this is right or is there a work-around?

Thanks

Yep it's true. Unless you've got it wired to the battery and a switch. I got pulled over once for a headlight being out after removing my HIDs. Tried another bulb, and it still didn't work. I had to reprogram my truck because somehow the passenger side light got turned off when I programmed my truck since it was unplugged for the HIDs.

Thanks Buck, I wonder if this is the same if i want to install my review camera?... Might wait and do both, so I only have to reflash once!

Thanks for the input.

The rearview camera shouldn't have anything to do with the computer. That's just a matter of plugging it into the back of your screen and tapping into a power and ground wire. Rather easy install. Though, I haven't fixed mine since someone broke into my truck last year and stole my nav unit.

So I found time to put the fog lights in today and they work without flashing the computer. Weird...
