I traded my 2010 Big Horn for a 2013 Express for $6k difference. When I saw the bed liner was deleted from the sticker I had the dealer transfer the plastic bed liner from my trade to my new vehicle. Same with the hitch, had the dealer install a new one because it was deleted from the sticker. Th overall sticker price of the new Express was lower because they deleted options like the opening rear window and wheel radio controls. It's all about marketing.

I must be missing something. Have you looked under those factory caps? I wouldn't want that area exposed it's kind of ugly. The factory bedliner covers all the areas and covers them well doesn't appear to thin to me.

I am very pleased with my factory liner. I have had Line-X, Rhino and several others over the years, but the factory liner is by far the best. I'm not sure why everyone thinks that thicker is necessarily better. It is plenty thick, and is probably the most skid-resistant that I have had.

Nope, still waiting on my Ram so I haven't seen under the caps which was why I asked the question. Part of it for me is that I'll get the underbody rustproofed at the same time so I'll end up paying less for a liner than I would have if I picked up the option. Besides, if the salesperson is talking me out of an option (i.e., $$ in their pocket) I'll take their advice. Typically the sidewalls and bed, if sprayed correctly, are 2 different thicknesses, with the bed being thicker than the sidewall. Sales person told me that wasn't the case with the factory liner. Now, I won't be beating the hell out of the bed other than my mountain bikes and the occasional dead deer, but if I can get better for the same price, I'm doing it.

Cool, yeah I think when you see it in person, it will make sense why they don't spray over the bed rails and why they use the bed caps.

Because most people don't want over the rail and the plastic caps that are std equipment do well enough by themselves protecting the bed.
IMHO, I HATE the over the rail look and I will be covering/replacing the factory caps with a set of polished stainless!

I'm going Line-x and staying away from the bed rails. The local Line-x dealer has a guy there that's been spraying for them for 10 years.

I had Line-x and they did it over the rails on my Dakota. It looked great and held up really well, although I ran it with a tonneau tri-fold, so it didn't see much weather.

My new truck has the factory spray in liner and I must say that it is very well done. It doesn't look cheap or thin as some on here have said. I'm not worried about the caps on the top all that much because I am running a tonneau on this one as well. I can't tell if they sprayed under the caps but it looks like they did. I can't confirm though, as I don't plan on taking them off.

My truck is at the dealer right now, one for the box alignment which after speaking with my sales guy was successful, and two, the spray in box liner, which is the one thing in my purchase deal I took a bath on, it cost me $800 bucks! So the rest of you, it sounds like y'all made off like bandits with yours!

I think the liner in the bed looked nice but when I touched the sides of the rails and the caps moved I thought rust central. I had one of those plastic bed liners in my current truck and when I took it out last year the bed was pretty rusty, to the point of where I just got a whole new box. I will say that I do like how the caps only come down about 3/4 of an inch on the sides, gives it a much cleaner look to the truck. I want line-x to do the same kind of look when I get my truck.
