Default My 2013 Build Thread (I guess)

I have done some serious builds on past trucks from Ford's to Dodge's. I have done it all it seems like from lift's to Engine swaps. I guess I have just reached that age where I have 4 small kids, wife and I both work full time and are full time students.

So I guess my Build is just a couple of the small things that are really important to me on my trucks.

No pics but I got the Magnaflow 14 put on in place of the stock muffler and LOVE IT!!!!

From the Dealership

Put on the G2 Bakflip

Then my Favorite addition to any truck, people just do not realize how much of a difference new tires makes. I hate stock tires.

275/65/20 - Nitto Terra Grapplers

You can also see the Vent Shades on the last pic.

I went out and bought a BugShield and just couldn't bring myself to put it on. Especially with the new tires the truck just looks to good.

I need to get a couple more pics from the side but these are the best I could get right now.

I got a avs aero wrap on the hood and you barely notice it on blue it would probably be even less noticeable on black. I have a few small marks on mine that would have chipped the paint. I agree this most look big on these.

Nice. Any rubbing at full lock in entry mode on the air suspension with the 275/65-20 tires?

Yeah I had my F-250 and was on the way to get one for it when a truck threw a rock and left a big ol scratch and dent that would have hit the guard. I am sure I will end up getting one...............

I also have the VERY shallow hope that I will get a Ram-Air hood for it as I have always wanted one.

Not on a flat surface. I have to park in a parking garage for work and I always freak out because even though I have plenty of room always think I am gonna rip the shark fin antenna off. I made some decent turns don't know about full lock but had no rubbing. That is the only time I can think that I would ever drive in Entry/exit mode.

Are those LT rated tires or just the P rated? Why did you go with the 65? I'm thinking of ordering those exact tires, but worried about rubbing.

Love it that is why I bought it 2 hours after signing for the truck. I had one on my F-250 I traded in. It folds completely out of the way if I need the whole bed, it can fold in sections and you can drive with it like that so some stuff is covered but big stuff in the back. Also it actually comes completely off very quickly and easily if you wanted to take it off for a specific load. With the auto tailgate locks on the 2013 it just makes things a little more secure.

The 275/65/20's are LT rated, the factory size 275/60/20's are P rated

I went with the 65's because I wanted something a little taller than stock but as I also did not want it to rub and I was keeping my factory 20's I didn't want to go any wider. Aftermarket tires enhance the look of the truck and if I was going to spend the money (which I knew I was) on new tires other than tread wanted something a little different (bigger) but I drive highway a lot so nothing to big. Also with the air suspension I wanted to be able to drop it and drive in parking garage.

I mentioned it somewhere else before but you can run a 285 but there are very few tires in that size. The discount tire guys computer said I could run a 305/55 no problem but I got under my truck and with the 275 at full lock I could not fit my thumb between the tire and the upper control arm.

Could you try full lock with the new tires and let me know if you have any rub either side? If not, I'll get mine on order. Your the first person I've found with the air ride that kept OE wheels and got the Nittos! Great looking truck. How is the road noise with those tires?

Sorry to ask, but could you send a pic from the back showing tires? I'm weird, I know. Thx!
