Default rust like stain on the porcelain part of the spark plugs.

so i went and changed my spark plugs (old ones where champion brand) ran good for a week no issues then i started noticing a loud wind blow/fan sound coming from the engine when i press on the throttle. (sound goes away after reaching normal driving temp) so i pulled the plugs (ngk brand that the parts guy gave me) out and i noticed a brown stain that looks like rust on the porcelain part of the spark plugs. didnt notice those on the old ones i replaced. so i just wiped them out then put em back in after 3 days of it being nice the sound started again. so i bought new spark plugs again and installed them. this time i went with bosch platinum +4 after a while its the same old story. can anyone here tell me what would be causing the rust like stain on the porcelain part of the plugs? is it something bigger of a problem? anyone here had issues like these? any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

A removed spark plug sometimes has discolouration around the insulator surface which looks like gases have leaked between the insulator and the shell. This discolouration is generally called " Corona stain" and is caused by the fact that oil particles in the air around the insulator surface are attracted by the corona discharge, are charged, and then adhere to the insulators surface. The corona stain causes no deterioration of the function of the spark plug.

No problem Twinkeys0816 we are all here to help each other.

That would be your Clutch cooling fan. unless you convert to electric fan like I did and many others have done the clutch fan will always sound like that plus when it does make that huge fan sound its taking horsepower away. You can order a Jet performance 180 degree thermostat and lower the engine temp that will keep the fan from making to much noise. The factory thermostat is 190 degree so 10 degrees less will help with a little performance and cooling .
