I think I will be able to hit 19 - 20 average. I will double check the rear end but the outdoorsman only came with the 3.55. The 3.21 would have been better for mileage. I also have the more aggressive tires (on/off road), which don't help either for MPG.

I might increase the tire diameter to get the equivalent of the 3.21, but I am unsure. I think I will see what I get once it warms up and I get a few miles on it.

Here is my window sticker: http://www.chrysler.com/hostd/window...RR7LG9DS637985
I don't think the 3.21 would make a lot of real world difference in mileage but the 3.55 certainly will make a difference in towing. Four thousand something lbs versus six thousand something lbs legal tow rating difference.

The outdoorsman I looked at certainly had the 3.21, physically checking the differential sticker. I will not purchase without the 3.55.

If you look at his window sticker 355s were a $50 option.

Yes. It was a $50 option on the window sticker of the one I was going to buy. However, what it had on the read differential was a sticker that said 3.21. Apparently Chrysler has really screwed up with the 3.21 / 3.55 confusion.

Got the grill guard and steps on. Loving the truck!

Averaged 18 MPG with about 40% city on the first 500 mile tank. Averaged 17.27 with about 55% city/offroad on the next 362 miles. Downshifts and starting from a light really hurt the mileage. Highway mileage at 60 mph is about 22-23. Highway mileage at 70 is about 20-21.

By the way, if anyone interested in this grille guard, you can get it on amazon. Just search for B004F61O46. You can get it from Amazon Warehouse Deals for 407 shipped, only two left. It is the older version of the westin mount which is actually for 09 - 10, but if you don't want to utilize the winch mount, you can utilize it on 09 - 13.

I really like the mount because it mounts in two locations to make it really strong. One under the bumper and one where the tow hooks go. You do lose the tow hooks. I am going to make a cross member where the winch is suppose to go for new tow hooks. The headlight portion do move a little but still protect. The rest of it is like a tank.

Also if anyone is interested in tow hooks, let me know. Would sell or may trade for chrome grille or grille inserts - 2013 ram only.

Nice Truck, Love the color!! Wish they would do a painted grill on the Longhorn since they paint the bumpers.

Doubt you will notice any difference in MPG based on the tires as labeling on road/ off road is way more marketing that anything. They are still the factory size so you should be good.
