Powerwagon 46 will become famous soon enough
Default '13 order becomes '14 question

I ordered a Longhorn last Friday. The dealer really had no idea how long it would take till the truck is built (said between 4 and 10 weeks). I was just curious what happens when the '13 orders do not get built before the plant shutdown to convert to the '14? I would assume they become '14 models.

I should be OK unless delivery goes more than 12 weeks!

I wouldn't be to upset if I ended up getting a '14 model. I ordered 2 days before you and was told 4-6 weeks is the typical delivery time but I'm sure he just gave me a number. If it takes much longer than 6 weeks then I am going to try and swing a free bed liner for the inconvenience. It's worth a shot any way. Have you been able to login to vots at all?

Also, I think they would just stop taking '13 orders when they get to the point that they can't finish up before they shut down.

I bet it's good time to negotiate for one of this '12 models. He's probably desperate to get rid of them things by now. There weren't any '12s anywhere near me last week. At least none that came close to what I wanted.

I'd assume if you ordered a 2013 you'll be getting a 2013. They're closing orders for the 2013 in a week. From what I've read here orders for the 2014 will open in June and production will start in July. I'd assume they would be done with producing all open orders for the 2013 prior to July.

GAH - GTyankee beat me to it

Guys all we know is that Ram will stop taking Fleet order on 4/30. I have spoken to 4 different dealerships and they have not been informed of any order cutoff dates. I am wondering if Ram/Chrysler has two different ordering cutoffs for Fleet Companies and other consumers. I have sent a note to my contact in Ram to see what he has to say.

I ordered an 8 speed cc sport hemi with 3.92, 8.4an, tow hitch, backup camera, and park assist. Maybe a few other things that I can't think of right now. Tru blue pearl color. Saw one that color on the lot and it looked good even covered in yellow pollen. Lol

nike, I think you chose well! 8 speed with 3.92 gears should be great.
