Default 08 1500 4x4 vibrations

I bought this truck from a dealer auction, all is good until I went into 4x4 and took off. There is this bad shutter/vibrations/shakes the crap outta the truck, but only in 4x4. I have changed the front right cv half shaft, thinking that was the problem because it was bouncing around on the output spline. nope not the problem. I changed the u-joint on the front driveshaft, still didnt fix the problem. the dealership cant tell me what the problem is. I'v talked with mechanics and they don't know. I do have new wheels and tires as well as an alignment done.
Has anyone had this problem out there?

usually those are the culprit of a 4x4 vibration. i leveled my truck with bilsteins and in 4x4 I get a minor shake. nothing terrible though and it's only on flat surfaces which I don't use 4x4 on anyway. I only felt it cuz I was on flat snow packed roads in 4x4.

i bet If you take that leveling kit off it'll go away

I don't think so. And I'm not sure why they cause it. But some people report it, some worse than others, and some never have issues. It varies truck to truck. If you like the leveled look or NEED it to clear whatever tires you are running, you could change to a different kit. Try the bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks like I have.

The shake I have is so terribly minor you wouldn't even noticed it unless you knew to look for it.

my shake is so bad it feels like the front end is going to come unglued. I actually went to a 18" wheel and tire, gained an extra 100km in fuel mileage. I need my 4x4 for getting in and out at the cabin.

i would just remove the leveling kit if you aren't pressed on it.

Sounds like you are getting the "4x4 death wobble" which a very heated topic as to what exactly causes it and how to fix it.

Start with removing the leveling kit and go from there

if you even have the slightest mechanical sense and standard tools u can do it in probably 2 hours.

take the wheels off
take off caliper and zip tie up (don't let it hang by the brake line)
remove rotors
undo tie rods and that other steering link
undo the 3 bolts at the top of the coil/strut assembly
remove the lower control arm bolt where it meets the strut (if it's seized, there is a write up on here ill post when I get back to my comp on how to deal with it)
drop the lower control arm (might need a extra pair of hands here)
push down on the LCA and u should be able to pull the strut assembly out and the leveling kit should be on top of it.

this was just a quick off the top of my head instruction from when i did my bilsteins which is different in that it involves taking the coil off the strut. so it might vary slightly but the point is it's very easy.
