Thought I'd jump in here.

My old man ordered a fully loaded Longhorn on March 1st. Been CX status since and found out yesterday that they cannot fulfil the order after nearly 2 months. They're trying to get him to wait for the 14 for the same deal locked in but he doesn't want to wait until Aug/Sept for expected delivery, in a perfect world. In the meantime, my dealer has been searching frantically to try and trade for a local Longhorn in the area to satisfy most of his requested upgrades since they won't all be checked.

Moral of the story: you ain't getting a fully loaded Longhorn at all.

as far as the VM 3.0L diesel goes
Fiat bought Penske Enterprises 50% portion of VM
it has been in vehicles like the 2011 Grand Cherokee, etc

Something doesn't make sense. I just ordered a almost (I say almost because I didn't get the protection group and tonneau cover) fully loaded Longhorn (CC, 4X4, air suspension, rambox, 3.55, 8 speed) on 4/22, got the VIN already with production scheduled. The salesperson emailed me this morning to confirm everything is a go with the order.

Was there something extra special about the Longhorn your father ordered?

Ok that's weird. I know he loaded everything. Literally, the only thing he didn't order was the CD Player, smokers group and the upgrade 3.92 gears. Are you sure you're not missing something else?

I didn't get the sun roof or tow mirrors. But I can't imagine that would cause such a delay as your father has experienced. Of course just because I got a VIN and it is scheduled for production doesn't mean it will not be a long delivery time. But this is the first I've heard of such a delay that it would be pushed into '14. I think I'd check with the dealer again. Just a thought!

It must be a Canada/USA thing as domesticman is from Canada, and so am I. I tried to order a Laramie on mar. 23 with Hemi with the 8 speed with air suspension and i was told as of mar. 22 they were no longer taking orders for the 8 speed Hemi. Yet i've seen other guys on here that seem to be from the states being able to order the 8 speeds with the Hemi.

Default order

Dealer just told me today they can still order 13's (May 24,2013). There is nothing in the inventory around here with a in a Laramie 3.92 limited slip which is what I want.

Dvp16, that's interesting I have been working with 3 dealers and as of yesterday they told me ordering a 13 was closed.

At the beginning of May when I was talking with 2 dealers, one of them told me they could place orders for a 2013 RAM until May 25 or 26. I just don't recall which day. If that dealer was correct, it is possible the dealers that are saying they cannot order a 2013 may not have any factory allocations available for a 2013 model year RAM.

I just ordered a 2013 yesterday (May 23). The dealer is telling you that because for a few days prior to that there were "restrictions" (the term RAM customer service used) that prevented anyone from placing an order. This happens occasionally when they do software updates, need to slow down orders on certain features due to parts shortages, etc.

Your dealer probably interpreted that as meaning "orders for 2013's are closed", which is incorrect.
